Noble Yeast is a mobile wood-fired pizza operation serving Neapolitan pies crafted with meticulous attention to tradition and seasonal ingredients. Led by Chef Michael of Workshop Kitchen + Bar, every pizza begins with "Hugo," a wild yeast starter cultivated since 2020, and dough cold-fermented for up to four days using just organic "00" flour, water, salt, and starter. Inspired by Chef Michael's European roots and guided by a Cal-Ital philosophy, the menu is ingredient-driven, featuring house-made ferments, salumi, and experimental seasonal toppings. We developed a complete brand identity that captures this balance of craft and creativity: a hand-drawn logo system, custom van and trailer illustration, and branded copy.

our approach
We built a brand identity that reflects Noble Yeast's playful, experimental spirit while honoring the craft behind every pizza. The client wanted a vibrant, approachable look balanced with a traditional red and black foundation. The logo centers on a hand-drawn wood-fired oven icon sitting above a funky, reverse-contrast contemporary typeface, custom-drawn and tailored to match the brand's quirky personality.
The visual language is bold and welcoming, mirroring Chef Michael's creative freedom in the kitchen where pizzas are as experimental as they are delicious. We drew heavy inspiration from the Palm Springs desert and Joshua Tree area where Noble Yeast is based, incorporating bright, sun-soaked colors and organic textures that feel at home under the desert sky. The result is a brand that's equal parts artisan craft and joyful rebellion.
